A mother & home exclusive
“It is necessary that the heroic becomes daily and that the daily becomes heroic.” - Saint Zelie Martin, mother of the Little Flower
Our 100% washed European linen aprons are handmade in Lithuania, the linen capitol of the world. They are affectionately named after Saint Zelie Martin, a 19th century French wife, mother, and homemaker whom Our Lord elevated to sainthood.
Saint Zelie wrote of the necessity of daily heroic acts in motherhood, and we believe her words are the perfect inspiration for our multi-purpose French-inspired aprons.
Each apron in our collection is hand-dyed and hand-sewn in Lithuania (except for the “Natural” color, which is not dyed at all). Inspired by the great kitchens of France, our aprons are long - measuring approximately 37 inches long by 27 inches wide. The apron features an adjustable tie at the neck, and a very long waist tie, so that your apron can be tied in the back with a long drape, or tied and knotted in front. A rectangular shaped front pocket sits slightly below the waist.
Our autumn apron collection features aprons in the classic French Stripe, Natural (not dyed), Cinnamon, and Dusty Blue. Each apron comes with an attachable charm ring that slips on to the apron neck straps without piercing the beautiful linen fabric. The ring features pearl beads, a Miraculous Medal, and a Saint Benedict’s Medal Crucifix.
We recommend having your apron medals blessed so that it truly becomes a sacramental for you to wear in your home. Each time you place your apron around your neck, you can offer yourself to God - one small, heroic “fiat” at a time.
- Machine washable on cold or warm
- Tumble dry on low heat
- Iron on low heat if necessary (we don’t recommend ironing - the natural wrinkles reveal the true beauty and uniqueness of linen.)
- Note: we recommend taking your sacramental charm ring off your apron before washing.
