The Carmelite Order is an ancient one, going back not only to St. Simon Stock but to the Prophet Elijah on Mount Carmel, giving us the Marian title "Our Lady of Mount Carmel." As the Carmelites spread throughout the world, deepening devotion to Christ, they also spread the Brown Scapular - the sacramental given to them by Our Lady. Today, she offers her intercession and protection to millions of Catholics throughout the world who wear the Scapular.
